Cruise to the Driving Creek Railway, COROMANDEL
A group of enthusiastic members cruised up the Thames coast to Coromandel township for a trip on the Driving Creek Railway. This impressive attraction opened to the public in 1990 and features three kilometres of tortuous narrow-gauge railway track over twenty-two hectares of hilly scrub-covered land. Much of the track has been built by hand and incorporates bridges/viaducts, three tunnels, two spirals and five reversing points on its way to the end of the line at the Eyefull Tower. It has hosted over a million visitors and is well worth a visit for anyone that might be in the area.
